How to bring back GitHub streak metrics

GitHub once displayed a "streaks" metric that tracked users record of most consecutive days with at least one contribution. Unfortunately, this has long been removed, but thanks to the ability to display a README.md file on GitHub profiles, we can bring this back along with just about anything else you can think up.

This tutorial contains instructions for adding GitHub streak metrics to your GitHub profile page.

Requirements

If you don't already know how to create your profile README.md, I suggest checking this article I posted last week that outlines this exact process: "How to add a README file to your GitHub Profile"
